1988 Balloon release and fame in the local newspaper

Fame at last!  Fay’s efforts were recognised in the “Extra”, the local newspaper for Glasgow South and Eastwood.

Fay was still fundraising for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, and this time along with a craft and “fancy goods” sale, she had decided to organise a balloon release from Woodfarm High School, taking pledges from people to guess how far the balloons would travel.

The attached newspaper article says it all: “Locals turned up in droves to pledge their support and with Fay’s willing band of helpers the cash has already mounted to the tune of almost £130.”
