The Creative Art Works Team

Fay created ‘Creative Art Works CIC’ with Joanna and Lindsay. Fay was the company’s ‘responsible adult’.

Fay made numerous friends through her line of self-employed work.  One such friend, Lindsay, she met at a networking event and ended up renting an office space from him in Liberton.  Lindsay quickly realised the potential with Fay’s professional market research skills, his colleague Joanna’s artistic research abilities, and Lindsay’s graphic design skills, and between the three of them they decided to form Creative Art Works, a Community Interest Company.

They worked on some exciting and challenging projects, and Lindsay remembers how easy Fay was to get along with as a colleague, and also how easily she got along with their clients as a consultant. In one of their projects, they met with people who were being rehabilitated, and Lindsay noted how Fay managed to instantly click and have genuine warmth with every person there, including a convicted armed robber.

One of Fay’s projects was to interview community groups across Scotland on behalf of Iriss (The Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services) to learn about why those specific groups have been so successful. Fay’s write up of the groups are on the Iriss website and there are some lovely photos of Fay at work: Centrestage Project, COPE Scotland, Asylum and Roma anti-poverty initiativeEast Lothian Champions Board, BALL project, Citadel Families Project, Assylum seeking young people peer support group

Fay described her involvement with Creative Art Works on her LinkedIn profile:
